ArtStories – New immersive room inaugurated at the Valle Sabbia Archaeological Museum

On 6 December, the new immersive room at the Valle Sabbia Archaeological Museum in Gavardo was inaugurated, created as part of the project “ArtStories: The interactive – immersive cloud platform for cultural storytelling”, made possible thanks to co-funding from InnovaCultura, promoted by the Lombardy Region, Unioncamere and Fondazione Cariplo. The Centrica and ArtCentrica teams curated the entire multimedia experience that now welcomes visitors at the beginning of the exhibition.

The MAVS – Museo Archeologico della Valle Sabbia offers the public an up-to-date overview of knowledge about prehistory and the history of human communities in the Valle Sabbia. The museum also houses artefacts from Lucone di Polpenazze, a site inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2011.

The new room introduces visitors to the history of the museum through an immersive narrative made up of imagessoundsvoices and animations. The experience is made possible by a system consisting of three projectorscomputerised controlmulti-projection and directional audio, designed to offer an engaging narrative and emotional impact.

At the same time, we have developed an interactive cloud platform that allows visitors and students to explore the history of the area in a dynamic way: exploring digitised artefacts, immersing themselves in Stories and studying through dedicated educational materials.

The inauguration was very well attended, confirming the importance of digital technologies in promoting archaeological heritage and bringing new generations closer to culture.
